豹柄シスログの溜息

id:gakongakon:20080826:1219748552 のdynamic_pager 続き。
論より証拠、ということで dankogai 御大の Makefile を特に修正せず使ってまず遊んでます。この Makefile、意外と頑張ってます。

で、怖いので syslog をちらちらと確認してたんですが、全然関係ないログに目が行って。

 $ tail -f /var/log/system.log
Aug 27 12:33:22 GAKONGAKON /usr/sbin/ocspd[666]: starting

…… ocspd って何？

気になるのでぐぐると、man ocspd と全く同じものが出てくる罠。

ocspd performs caching and network fetching of Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs) and Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) responses. It is used by Security.framework during certificate verification. Security.framework communicates with ocspd via a private RPC interface.

Security Framework が使う、CRL や OCSP に準じてデジタル証明書をリアルタイムで確認するためのデーモンらしいです。
ちなみに、Mac OS X の Security Framework はたまに Security Update とかで更新されてる奴で、

/System/Library/Frameworks/Security.framework

にあります。念のため。

Apple Mail を起動したときに立ったので、Apple Mail とかの SSL証明を多用するアプリの起動時に立ち上がるっぽいです。
